Marine Farming/AquacultureMarine farming has expanded rapidly in Tasmania since the 1990s and is now one of the State's major industries. Other secondary industries have also grown up around marine farming, creating additional economic and employment benefits for the State.
The Department does not manage freshwater fishing or freshwater aquaculture in Tasmania. Inland Fisheries information can be found at www.ifs.tas.gov.au
A Seal/Fishery Interaction Management Strategy has been developed by the Marine and Marine Industries Council.
