Sea Fishing & Aquaculture

Part of Tasmania's island advantage is the waters that surround our State, and the unique sea life that it supports. The Department is responsible for the management of our sea fisheries and has a strong focus on education and promoting public awareness. Marine farming, which is also regulated by the Department, has expanded rapidly in Tasmania in the past decade to become one of Tasmania's major industries.
