Dairy Industry

Dairying is important to the social and economic structure of Tasmania's rural communities. Over the last decade, dairy production in Tasmania has increased by nearly 80%, to become Tasmania's largest agricultural industry.

Since July 2007, dairy research, development and extension activities are being delivered through the Dairy Centre of the Tasmanian Institute of Agricultural Research (TIAR), a joint venture between the Tasmanian Government and the University of Tasmania.
