Rules apply when taking rock lobster (also known as crayfish) and crab species in Tasmania including gear restrictions, area restrictions, size, bag and possession limits. A recreational rock lobster dive, pot or ring licence is needed to fish recreationally for rock lobster. You must have a rock lobster pot licence to take giant crab. A licence is not needed to take inshore and other crabs.
