Marine Protected Areas Strategy

In 2001, the Government signed off on a strategy for establishing a system of Marine Protected Areas for the conservation of biodiversity in Tasmania - the Tasmanian Marine Protected Areas Strategy. The link does not constitute any form of endorsement is undertaking the identification and selection of new marine protected areas following the 12 step process defined in the strategy, which involves extensive public consultation.


Fisheries Licensing and Ministerial Guidelines

These are administrative policy guidelines approved by the Minister under section 75 of the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995.

The Australian Fisheries Management Forum (AFMF)

AFMF is a consultative group made up of heads of the Australian, state and territory government agencies responsible for fisheries. The Department is presently the secretariat for AFMF.
