2.12.1 | 
The fish must come from the following approved hatcheries: |

(a) | 
Steven Siegmann, Franke's Fish Farm, Robe, South Australia | 
(b) | 
Pine Creek Hatchery, Coffs Harbour, New South Wales

2.12.2 | 
For a hatchery to be approved as free of Aeromonas salmonicida, an authorised fish health officer in the exporting State or Territory must: | 
| 
| (a) | Carry out one of the 2 following inspection regimes: |  | 
(i) | 
Inspect at least 4 times a year, with at least 2 months between consecutive visits. Two visits in each year will be between November and February; or | 
(ii) | 
Inspect the fish at least 2 times a year, with no less than 2 months between consecutive visits. Both visits in each year must be between November and February. A sample of fish must be examined for Aeromonas salmonicida using the Enrichment Culture ELISA test. Further requirements for this testing are: | 
| 

a) | 
The testing must be done in a laboratory approved by the Chief Veterinary Officer of the exporting State or Territory; | 
b) | 
At least 150 fish must be tested in the first 2 years; | 
c) | 
Sixty or more fish must be tested in the second year; | 
d) | 
A minimum of 30 fish must be tested in the last month of the quarantine period; | 
e) | 
All sick or dead fish must be submitted for testing. These will, however, be included in the sample only if they have been examined to the satisfaction of the certifying officer; | 
f) | 
In subsequent years, at least 30 fish must be tested. |

|

(b) | 
Have no reason to suspect that Aeromonas salmonicida is present in the water supply of the hatchery; | 
(c) | 
Be satisfied that that no goldfish have been introduced into the hatchery during the certification period, unless they have come from a hatchery that is already certified; and | 
(d) | 
Ensure that all disease outbreaks have been reported and investigated to the satisfaction of the fish health officer.

2.12.3 | 
For each shipment, the authorised fish health officer must certify that: | 
| 

(a) | 
All the conditions for certification have been met in the previous 24 months; | 
(b) | 
Any goldfish introduced into the hatchery were from another certified hatchery, or were quarantined under supervision until they met the conditions for certification; and | 
(c) | 
There are no reasons to doubt the consignor's declaration. | 
(d) | 
The hatchery is not subject to any movement controls imposed on account of disease.

2.12.4 | 
The consignor must certify that: | 
| 

(a) | 
The fish have been inspected and are in good health; | 
(b) | 
The goldfish will be sent directly to Tasmania with no repacking while in transit; and the conditions for certification have been observed.

2.12.5 | 
The consignor must also specify: | 
| 

(a) | 
The number and description of the fish; | 
(b) | 
The establishment from which the fish will be consigned; | 
(c) | 
The hatcheries where the fish were spawned; | 
(d) | 
The place and time of landing in Tasmania; and | 
(e) | 
The consignee. |

2.13.1 | 
Species that are prohibited by the legislation or policy of any other Agency may not be imported. The Inland Fisheries Act 1995 bans fish that can live in water temperatures below 10oC, European Carp, and any species for which the importer does not have a permit.

2.13.2 | 
For each shipment the consignor must certify that:
(a) | 
The fish or molluscs were bred in Australia, or were imported according to Australian Quarantine Inspection Service requirements; and | 
(b) | 
The fish or molluscs are healthy. |

2.14.1 | 
Queen bees and escort bees may be imported provided that:
(a) | 
They are in new queen cages; and | 
(b) | 
The escort bees have been hand-caught.

2.14.2 | 
Substances produced or collected by bees, other than beeswax, may be imported without restriction.
. | 
2.14.3 | 
Beeswax must have been melted and cooled.
. | 
2.14.4 | 
Used apiary equipment may not be imported. |


2.15.1 | 
No certification is required. The only restrictions are: | 
| 

(a) | 
an Inspector must check the animal inventory on entry and departure; and | 
(b) | 
the animals must have no contact with other livestock. |
