Changes to Threatened Species Schedules

Scientists have recommended changes to the listing of species under Tasmania's Threatened Species Protection Act 1995. The Tasmanian devil is one of 49 species being moved up the list because of increasing vulnerability.

The expert Threatened Species Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), chaired by Dr Roy Swain of the University of Tasmania, has completed its 5-year review of species listed in the Act's schedules.

The Order was made by the Minister on 14 May 2008 which makes the changes law. The Order is available to download as a PDF, can be viewed at the Tasmanian legislation web page www.thelaw.tas.gov.auYou are now leaving our site.
