Dr Swain is an expert in freshwater ecology, vertebrate fauna, invertebrate fauna and terrestrial ecology. He has worked as a professional biologist in Tasmania for 36 years and during this time he has published over 100 scientific papers. Dr Swain is a retired Associate Professor from the School of Zoology, University of Tasmania.
Dr Turner has expertise in vascular and non-vascular flora and terrestrial and population ecology. Dr Turner is a Research Fellow at the University of Tasmania (School of Plant Science). She is also an Honorary Research Associate with the School of Geography, University of Tasmania. Dr Turner has an excellent working knowledge of the non-vascular flora of south-eastern Australia and has published widely in her field.

She is employed at the Tasmanian Aquaculture and Fisheries Institute and is involved in various marine environment issues. Dr Crawford is currently Program Leader for Natural Resource Management. Research groups within her program include Estuarine Dynamics, Marine Biodiversity Assessment, Habitat Mapping, Freshwater Ecology and Marine Ecosystems.
Dr Jordan brings expertise in vascular flora, in particular, he is an expert in the evolution of the Australian flora, with special attention to the fossil records of the last 50 million years, and the role of leaf structure in the evolution of plants. He has established a website for identifying Tasmanian plants and has published over 80 scientific papers and articles on these topics. Dr Jordan is a senior lecturer in the School of Plant Science, University of Tasmania.
