Notice of Valuation



The Notice of Valuation is used to inform land owners and lessees of changes to property valuation details.


Property valuations are undertaken in accordance with the Valuation of Land Act 2001You are now leaving our site. DPIWE is not responsible for the content of the web site to which you are going. The link does not constitute any form of endorsement. These valuations assist government is assessing land and property values, and may be used for rating and taxing purposes.

What if the details on the form are not correct?
If there are any errors in the details contained on the Notice of Valuation such as land area, property description or improvements, or if there have been changes to your property such as additions, demolitions or other material changes, please advise the Office of the Valuer-General of these changes by phoning us on 03 6233 3715 or sending an email to ovg.enquiries@dpipwe.tas.gov.au.
    If you have sold the property detailed in the Notice of Valuation
    If the whole or any part of the land shown on the Notice of Valuation has been sold, please advise the Office of the Valuer-General of these changes by phoning us on 03 6233 3715 or sending an email to ovg.enquiries@dpipwe.tas.gov.au.

    If you disagree with the valuation provided
    • If you wish to discuss your valuation as shown on your notice please contact the valuers who provided your valuation.
    • If you wish to discuss other information or details on your Notice of Valuation contact the Office of the Valuer-General on 03 6233 3715 between the hours of 08:45am and 5:00pm.
    • If you wish to object to your valuation *, your objection must be made on the Notice of Objection form.
      Objections must be lodged within sixty (60) days from the date of the Notice of Valuation.
      * Grounds for objection must be clearly stated. Where the objection is against the values detailed on the Notice of Valuation, you must provide suitable evidence to support your objection. Any discussion of rates and land tax is not valid grounds for objection.
    All objections will be reviewed and assessed. The Office of the Valuer-General will notify you in writing advising of the decision regarding your objection.
